I’ll be heading HOME to Texas in four days for the Thanksgiving holiday and I couldn’t be more excited! I haven’t been to Houston since August 2007, so the visit is highly anticipated and long overdue. It’s slightly oxymoronic to say I’m “vacationing” in Texas, but that’s exactly what I’ll be doing. Here’s what I’m most looking forward to (in no particular order):
- Margaritas/REAL Tex-Mex
- Sleeping in
- Daddy!
- Thanksgiving festivities
- Riding in cars!!
- Seeing all my girls! (Emma, Kelley, Kimberly)
- Seeing other old faces
- Going through old boxes I haven’t touched in years
- Cowboys (yeah, guilty!)
- Blaring music with the windows down
- 70-degree weather
The biggest difference between this Thanksgiving and any other is that I won’t be able to overindulge in the turkey this year. But I’ve never had a problem making an entire meal out of mashed potatoes, croissants and pumpkin pie. :)
I hope Monday and Tuesday go by quickly and I don’t encounter any travel disasters (knock on wood!) because I’m so ready to be relieved from this 20-degrees nonsense!
