Emma sent me this article this morning, assuming I had already read it (I hadn’t), about twentysomethings moving to NYC and either falling in love and becoming true New Yorkers, or feeling completely overwhelmed/dissatisfied. It took some time for me to settle in, but never, even through the minor expected struggles, did I ever want to leave. This quote sums up my affair with the city quite perfectly: “I knew it wasn’t going to be easy — it was something I had to do. …I am in love with the city. And what relationship is good if you don’t work for it?” New York and I have been through a lot together, and it may sound crazy, but he’s still the best boyfriend I’ve ever had.
