So I’ve neglected my tumblr a little lately. What can I say? I’ve been relatively uninspired. Not to mention that this past weekend was a complete whirlwind! Friday was happy hour that started at 6pm and went way in to the wee hours of the morning. Saturday was minor recuperation, followed by the most ridiculous (I mean that in a good way) evening out in Brooklyn with my good friend Jess. The night started off slow with several house parties and quickly gained momentum as we went to places entirely new to me. I met some of the most intriguing people I’ve ever met in New York that night…and, I know this a bold, unexpected statement, but I’m 98% sure that I’d prefer my next bf to reside in this underestimated borough of New York City. Most of the guys are artsy and creative and seem to want slightly more out of life than men in Manhattan (but more on that later). One of the people I met - who I spent hours upon hours talking to - had more depth to him than anyone I have encountered in a very long time. But I’ll refrain from anymore innocent details, as making myself vulnerable has never been one of my best qualities. (oops, too late?)
But overall, everything with OMGSK is great. Weren’t expecting the third person, were you? Work is busy and, at times, overwhelming…but only because I think I have a severe inability to FOCUS - something I can no longer attribute to computer distractions or other people. I don’t think it’s ADD (we’re ALL ADD), but a lot of the time - mostly during intense writer’s block - I’d just rather doodle hearts than rewrite an entire paragraph. Luckily this hasn’t limited my productivity, but I’m afraid it might eventually. Being creative isn’t always easy. Maybe I’m just a writer. Or maybe I’m just human.
I’ll be heading to Texas on Thursday. I’m excited about the trip, but not the traveling. God, traveling is a trip. I’m spending the weekend in Dallas/Fort Worth with my BOO, and we’ll be attending our friend Paige’s wedding during my visit. I’m looking forward to wide open spaces and Mexican food and laying out in the sun all day. Oh, and cowboys.
Here’s to being - and staying - inspired!
