Went to see 27 Dresses tonight with SIX of my favorite girls! It was great. And it just delights me to know that I have so many awesome ladies in my life. Cheeeese.

The movie was charming and funny and ohsocute, but EVERYTIME I see a romance comedy filmed in Manhattan (or, um, anywhere), I think it makes me just the slightest bit more cynical than I already am (is that even remotely possible?!)

I believe in love and I believe in chance and I believe in totally ridiculous, head-over-heels, to-die-for romance. It’s even happened to me before!! But I can’t help but watch these adorable, heart-warming chick flicks and think: THIS DOESN’T HAPPEN IN REAL LIFE. At least not to THAT extent. In fact, I even said it OUTLOUD during the movie (my friends were not impressed).

Cynicism aside, I refuse to settle for anything less than a fairy tale ending (and beginning!!), and movies like this only tend to send my head spinning. WHY NOT ME?!

But then I step back into reality and remind myself that I WILL one day have a storybook romance, and that I need to learn to take these movies for what they really are: entertainment! Oh, and a good excuse to get together with your faves.
