Well my second Christmas in New York City has been a great one, but it really hasn’t felt like the holidays. The lights and the chilly weather and the festivities usually give away the time of year, but for all I know, it could be February right now. I guess that just comes with getting older.
Mom has been in the city for the past few days and we have done lots of walking and shopping and cooking and watching the WE channel. We also exchanged some fun gifts, spent time with other family members, and she taught me how to make egg salad and brew my own pot of coffee (to cutback on my Starbucks expenses, obvs). All in all, a fab holiday.
After mom leaves this afternoon, I’m going to spend the entire day catching up on sleep and hanging out with the girls. I bought a New Years dress yesterday from a boutique in SoHo, and I’m still determing my feelings about it. Its short, red and sequined - It pretty much screams HELLO, 2008! I’M FABULOUS! I could see how some would think it just….screams, but whatev.
Still working on figuring out some solid New Years resolutions. I’m hoping 08 will be the year I actually follow through. A post from this past January read:
As for new years resolutions…I’ve done pretty well so far with my goal to go to the gym 4-5x/week (ignore the fact that January only started 7 days ago). I’ll start the “no more procrastinating” resolution next week….
OH, and I started the “no more lame jokes” resolution after that last sentence.
Clever, Sara Katherine.
More to come.
MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!
