Last night, I attended the 2007 Gotham Awards in Brooklyn. This event “celebrates the independent voices behind and in front of the camera in the year’s best films.”
While I was there, I met/saw the following (eh-hem! drum roll please): Kira Sedgwick, Maggie Gyllenhal, Keri Russell, Roger Ebert, Uma Thurman, Mayor Bloomberg, Emile Hirsch, Laura Linney, Kerry Washington, among many other independent film stars!
Michael Moore, Meryl Streep, Sean Penn and Jack Black were there too, but we left before the awards show was over.
We spent the beginning of the night on the red carpet, thanks to the roomie who got us press passes (she actually had to work, though). My little camera just clicked away as all the celebs passed by. We made friends with some photogs and I got to listen to all the celebs do interviews with major publications (even with Whit!) Afterward, we got to sit down and watch the awards show and enjoy the open bar and goodie bags.
