OpenTable.com is the “most popular website for making restaurant reservations online.” Basically, you can use the site to narrow your choices, read reviews and select a restaurant based on availability. It is particularly a common tool to use for very popular and fancy-schmancy places, although they have thousands of listed restaurants.
Here is NY’s top ten booked restaurants:

A nice variety of cuisines and locations, right?
Then here is Houston’s top booked:

Please tell me you notice a common trend.
I get it. Texans love steak. But they also want more for their $$$. It makes sense.
New Yorkers, on the other hand, are happy eating at the IT restaurant o’ the week and eating small portions of carefully prepared and decorated plates.
Makes sense too.
…right?!
