I’d never be the first to admit that I’m obsessed with a show about pretentious Manhattan high schoolers.
But the second or third? Sure.
For the past 5 consecutive Wednesdays, the glamorous teens from Gossip Girl have taken a solid (wonderful) hour out of my life. (That’s not even counting all the extra time I waste discussing the delicious, unfolding drama of these faux heirs!)
The last time a remarkably witty show came out about sex and money and the lives of the fabulous in Manhattan, it was about thirty-something women. Not 16-year-olds.
I’m not complaining though. The show is the perfect amalgamation for an instant addiction (especially for young women in the city). I just find it even more incredible that a mere 20 blocks away (if not closer!), Upper East Siders are going through exactly what the show portrays at this very moment!
Which of the following from tonight’s episode do we think is likely happening as I type:
A. The masquerade ball is letting out and everyone is hopping into their limos.
B. A son is being blamed for his dad’s coke addiction.
C. A mother is having an affair with a sketchy man twice her age.
D. Girls are wearing dresses that cost 5x my rent.
E. All of the above.
You know you love me. XOXO
