Our trip to the Hamptons yesterday was absolutely great - all we needed was a few rays of sunshine to make it perfect - but it was still an awesome Saturday with the girls. We’ll definitely be back for long weekend trips throughout the summer. Here’s the day in a nutshell:
- Wake up 7:30AM.
- Wish I was still asleep.
- Pack basic essentials.
- Melissa arrives @ 8:30AM.
- Shotgun!
- Starbucks. Obviously.
- Pick up Jenny.
- Wonder why Jenny brought 8 outfits for a 12-hour trip.
- Pat myself on back for being low maintenance (for once).
- Drive east.
- Sing, laugh, talk for 2 hours.
- Arrive in East Hampton.
- Eat lunch at a cute outdoor seafood restaurant.
- Head to beach.
- Pray for sun.
- Take pics.
- Gray skies and sprinkles and no Hamptons parking permit deter us from staying longer than planned.
- Drive around and gawk at houses we will one day have.
- Head to Main Street for shopping.
- Decide that future husband will take me to the Tiffany’s on Main Street to pick out whatever I wish.
- Snap back to reality.
- Continue to explore quaint little luxury town.
- See more windmills and old people than imagined.
- Drive to Montauk.
- Spend an hour or so checking it out.
- Head back to New York.
- Take critical detour to Southampton winery.
- Sit outside at the Wolffer Estate Vineyard.
- Enjoy several glasses of delicious wine.
- Melissa, our driver, gets wasted.
- Just kidding. Melissa is a super responsible DD!
- Get back on 27.
- Eat dinner at Taco Bell on way home.
- Wonder how we went from the Hamptons to Taco Bell.
- Decide we are the epitome of class.
- Get lost on way home.
- Find Target!!!!
- Decide we will only spend 30 minutes in Target.
- Spend well-over an hour in Target.
- Finally make it back to Manhattan around 10PM.
- Forfeit going out for sleep.
- Liver and credit cards rejoice.
